About dog trainer Odette

Odette is a qualified professional dog trainer and a proud member of both the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT UK), the two leading professional bodies for dog training and behaviour with stringent assessment criteria for membership.

Crazy about dogs

Her love for all things dog started with her first family dog, a boisterous Bouvier girl. Odette was ten years old and was immediately hooked.

As an adult Odette developed a successful career in marketing and PR, but after 17 years of immersing herself in human communications she said a fond farewell to London life and moved to West Sussex with two newly adopted rescue dogs: Kiki a Rottweiler girl, and Tigger an American Bulldog cross boy.

They were joined by Hippo, a rescue Staffordshire Bull-Terrier boy a few years later. Poppy, an eight-month Rottie girl, with an unfortunate start in life, followed in Kiki’s paw steps after her passing.

Passionate about dog welfare

Odette is passionate about animal welfare. She has been a Dogs Trust volunteer since 2009 and volunteered at the RSPCA head office helping out with fundraising during 2013.

Odette is a positive reinforcement and clicker trainer. She strongly believes that the use of pain or force impede the dog from learning. Instead she will set your dog up for success and help him become a good decision maker so that you can enjoy a more harmonious, contented life together.
